“Block series”

A series of Hanji paper-based sculptures.
Inspired by Hong Kong high-rise architecture, the paper sculptures reflect a juxtaposition of organic flow and adaptability within uniform vertical structures. The work examines various questions including but not limited to how the individual lives and how they are formed within a larger society.

Created for “New Hanji: A Korean Paper Tradition Re-Imagined” exhibition at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum, Milwaukee and placed within a period room at the exhibition space.
