Pop-Up Paper Sculpture
“Folding Mountain & Folding City”
Laser-printed cardstock accordion folds that can be displayed in a variety of ways. Installed as wall-mounted or freestanding elements, these books are fully collapsible and explore the distinctive formal language of stylized environments through different pop-up mechanisms.
Created for “Confluence: A Curatorial Endeavour” exhibtion at the Nehru Art Gallery at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture & Fine Arts University in Hyderabad, India.
A series of Hanji paper-based sculptures.
Inspired by Hong Kong high-rise architecture, the paper sculptures reflect a juxtaposition of organic flow and adaptability within uniform vertical structures. The work examines various questions including but not limited to how the individual lives and how they are formed within a larger society.
Created for “New Hanji: A Korean Paper Tradition Re-Imagined” exhibition at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum, Milwaukee and placed within a period room at the exhibition space.
